The ifa team presents the new ecPACS solution for “state of the art” ophthalmology
Innovation is the key for professional ophthalmology. Diagnostic and therapeutic processes are more and more driven by modern technology. Information technology (IT) is an integral part of the leading eye care environments around the world. The new ifa ecPACS solution combines experience of over 30 years with the latest software technology. The application is vendor independent and can connect all leading ophthalmic devices with Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software, Practice Management Systems (PMS) and vendor specific image databases.
International Health IT (HIT) standards are the robust foundation of ecPACS. The solution is compliant with DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine), HL7 (Health Level 7) and IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) requirements.
The past year was under many aspects one of the most successful years in the ifa groups company history. The number of projects, especially in international markets, increased significantly; the market development strategies of the last years have now begun to pay off. Additionally, ifa was able to finalize contracts with qualified cooperation partners across the globe, which have already shown first successes in project acquisitions.
AAO Meeting: More than 15.000 ophthalmologists meet in Chicago
The annual congress of the American Academy for Ophthalmology (AAO) 2014 is scheduled for October 17-21 in Chicago. The ifa team presents the new IMS software generation (IMS = ICD-10, Meaningful Use, SNOMED) together with training sessions for established and new users. The version 7.x (IMS version) is full MU 2014 compatible and already implements the complete ICD-10 transition functionality in the US. An integral part of the new SW generation is the Clinical Coding Management Module (CCMM) which is an exclusive development by the ifa software engineering team based on the experience of 20+ years with ICD-10 in most countries worldwide. Chris Reinartz, Chief Technology Officer: “We are definitely proud of the new software generation and the corresponding certification. With IMS we enter a new era of Health IT with complex data communication between physicians who manage the same patients. The innovative platform is also designed for a comprehensive clinical decision support (CDS) which is also part of the official approval by the US government.”
