ifa at the SOE Congress in Copenhagen: linking science and ophthalmic practice (booth no. 39)
The medical area of ophthalmology is marked by constant change as a result of rapid scientific progress. Every second year, the congress of the European Society of Ophthalmology (SOE) provides a platform for presenting the latest scientific discoveries in ophthalmology. For this year’s congress, held from 8 to 11 June at Bella Center Copenhagen, a record number of abstracts has already been handed in and so delegates can look forward to learning about a great number of new findings. The ifa team, for its part, is looking forward to welcoming a great number of delegates at booth no. 39 of the SOE industrial exhibition.
ASCRS in San Francisco Marked by Clinical Data Management
The Annual Meeting of the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) in San Francisco was strongly marked by the factors of quality and innovation in the area of healthcare. International ophthalmology (eye care) is currently undergoing significant changes: diagnostics and therapy are more and more characterized by high tech. Laser technology is being applied even more than before in cataract and refractive surgery and is based on clinical data management (research and quality assurance).

The event is held from 20 to 23 April 2013 in Moscone Center South Hall in San Francisco, city of the famous Golden Gate Bridge.
ifa launches EMR pilot project at the University Eye Hospital in Beijing
At the end of February ifa team members started to implement the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) at the University Eye Hospital in Beijing (http://english.pkuph.edu.cn/). ifa’s bilingual software version (English and Chinese) had been evaluated for the pilot phase together with the cooperation partner Global Vision, the leading provider of medical engineering products for ophthalmology in China.
