ifa launches biggest EMR project of an eye hospital in Europe Print

The official kick- off meeting for this important eye hospital project took place in Rotterdam (NL) in February. In the medium term, more than 400 users will work with ifa’s EMR (Electronic Medical Record) in The Rotterdam Eye Hospital.

The Rotterdam Eye Hospital's CFO and chairman of the steering committee, Kees Sol, stated at the opening event: “Back in 1997, after having received a reference from the USA saying that ifa was the leading EMR system worldwide, we contacted the company for the first time. It took another 16 years to finally start the project. It is the most important project for us this year, 2013 will be The Rotterdam Eye Hospital’s “ifa year”.“ All in all, 70 employees of The Rotterdam Eye Hospital and 12 ifa team members are working together in 5 work groups. The implementation is carried out according to the latest project management concepts (PRINCE 2) and based on a comprehensive quality management system according to ISO 9001:2008. Together with the Premium EMR software, the ifa team developed more than 200 SOPs for the implementation of Health IT in international eye hospitals that have already been applied successfully in the USA.
