Australia: Another Leading Eye Care Hospital Decides on Implementing ifa Print

With the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH) another international eye care hospital has decided on implementing ifa. The RVEEH is a member of the World Association of Eye Hospitals (WAEH). Under the terms of the contract the Melbourne-based hospital will have ifa’s ecPACS (Eye Care Picture Archive and Communication System) solution implemented. The project will be launched as early as August 2012 and finished in the 4th quarter of 2012.

The ecPACS concept allows for integrating all of the digital devices and camera and laser systems in an eye care hospital in one single network. The system can also be upgraded to the international ifa EMR (Electronic Medical Record).

Guido Niemann, the ifa group‘s CEO, said: “The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is now the fourth ophthalmic hospital from the World Association of Eye Hospitals that has decided on implementing ifa. Projects carried out so far in Leuven, Belgium, Jakarta, Indonesia, and Bangkok, Thailand, are great references for ifa products. The ifa team is proud of the successful implementation of these projects, which underlines ifa’s role as the leading provider of Health IT for ophthalmology. It is expected 2013 will see the generation of further projects within this group.”
