ifa launches “Rent a Software” (RAS) Print

Financing investments in the area of Healthcare is a challenging subject. The demand for leasing and rental models is growing stronger and stronger. The ifa group of companies has therefore launched the “Rent a Software” (RAS) concept as an alternative to the classic model of purchasing licenses. RAS enables major ophthalmic practices and hospitals which dispose of limited investment funds only to deploy the international EMR (Electronic Medical Record) software on a rental basis. A detailed analysis of software use according to workstation and time period forms the basis for “tailor made” contracts. Guido Niemann, ifa’s CEO, is a realist: “Relatively high initial investments constitute the most critical factor in many international EMR projects. Physicians and clinic managers do not doubt the benefits of Health IT. Often the real question is: when will funds be available and internal prerequisites fulfilled? The new RAS concept allows for a phased introduction, also with differentiated funds over a longer period of time.”
