ifa at the SOE Congress in Copenhagen: linking science and ophthalmic practice (booth no. 39) Print

The medical area of ophthalmology is marked by constant change as a result of rapid scientific progress. Every second year, the congress of the European Society of Ophthalmology (SOE) provides a platform for presenting the latest scientific discoveries in ophthalmology. For this year’s congress, held from 8 to 11 June at Bella Center Copenhagen, a record number of abstracts has already been handed in and so delegates can look forward to learning about a great number of new findings. The ifa team, for its part, is looking forward to welcoming a great number of delegates at booth no. 39 of the SOE industrial exhibition.

ifa applications have always been linking science and ophthalmic practice in terms of technology. At this year’s SOE congress, the ifa team will therefore provide delegates with particular information on ifa’s innovative Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS). Upon entry of structured data into ifa’s Electronic Medical Record, the application automatically draws on a knowledge database, which contains relevant information on the clinical symptoms, for example in the form of the latest scientific publications and legal guidelines on the subject at hand. In this way an intelligent link is established between the individual patient case and the corresponding medical knowledge. CDSS thus gives ophthalmologists an efficient overview of the latest scientific findings and permits integrating these findings into the treatment of patients. CDSS also enables a flawless analysis of data on cataract, glaucoma, retina diseases and any kind of ophthalmic surgery.

However, the ifa group of companies also links science and ophthalmic practice efficiently beyond CDSS: It has, for example, proven to be a reliable IT partner for international projects aimed at analyzing the results of ophthalmic surgery in terms of quality. In addition, the ifa group of companies supplies telemedical solutions for evaluating diabetic retinopathy and macular edema.

At the SOE congress, Guido Niemann, ifa’s CEO, and Robert Habel, the company’s Key Account Director for International Markets, will be representing the ifa group of companies. Both possess an outstanding in-depth knowledge of ifa’s applications for linking science and ophthalmic practice in terms of technology. They look forward to welcoming you at booth no. 39 and completely agree with the SOE in saying: “This is the place to network with new and old friends.”

See you in Copenhagen!
