First Phase of ifa Project launched at University Hospital in Oklahoma City Print

Following a tender process of more than 24 months, the Dean McGee Eye Institute (DMEI), home to the Department of Ophthalmology of the University of Oklahoma, agreed by a large majority on implementing the ifa program as its EHR (Electronic Health Record). The implementation process then began in May 2012. The project group is made up of ifa united i-tech Inc. staff and employees of the Inoveon Corp. (100% subsidiary of the ifa group of companies) as well as the Dean McGee team. Already before the end of 2012 a total of approx. 350 employees will be working with the ifa Electronic Medical Record.

In the first week of August 2012 the first phase of “going live“ was launched in DMEI’s clinical and surgical departments. In as little as one week a completely paperless documentation of the patient record was achieved.

Dale Cook, Executive Vice President of ifa united i-tech Inc., Fort Lauderdale, FL, US: “The project of introducing the ifa EHR (Electronic Health Record) at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City truly raises the bar for American Health IT. DMEI is one of the leading ophthalmic hospitals in the US and therefore places great demands on quality and innovation. It is our aim to establish DMEI as a “Center of Excellence” for information technology in the US. The first phase has been implemented in record time and proves the ifa software has been developed to a very high standard. This makes us all feel very optimistic with regard to the coming months and years.” (
